Below is a short overview of our suggestions for home learning this week.
This week in maths, we suggest completing statistics learning on Monday then moving on to telling the time. We will start with telling the time to the nearest 15 minutes in words (e.g. o'clock, half past, quarter to, quarter past), then move on to telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes the week after.
Sometimes children find telling the time trickier than other aspects of maths. It can sometimes help to ask time questions in little chunks throughout the day rather than in one longer sitting.
This week in English we are looking at recipes.
Our spellings for this week are words with ‘tion’ in: station, fiction, motion, national, section, action, addition, subtraction, multiplication and calculation.
These spellings and a mixed times table challenge (2x, 5x and 10x tables) will be available on SumDog between Monday and Friday.
Topic information that might be useful to know in advance
In Monday’s science lesson we have suggested making a minibeast hotel using materials that you have around the house/garden.
