25th September 2020
Autumn is definitely here! Thank you for your warm greetings each morning – it is great to see the children coming in so full of life.
I am sorry to hear that one or two people have slipped on the way into school along the Dallas Rd slabbed pathway – it seems the curbs are a particular issue. Mr Clarke has kindly been out to sweep the area by our Dallas Rd gate and we have been in touch with the council to come and help. The council have been out to spray the pathway on High St today.
End of the day
Thank you for adjusting to the new finish times, it has meant a lot less need for children to linger and sets us up well for the colder, wetter weather. Can I please ask however that we can try and avoid standing in the gateway as it is causing congestion and some consternation – thanks for your understanding.
Prospective parent visits
Unfortunately, due to the increased restrictions, we need to adjust how we will be delivering our prospective parent ‘visits’. In agreement with the local school cluster, these will now be undertaken entirely remotely. We will post a video of the children’s thoughts about our beautiful school on the school website and offer three Zoom sessions to present the key messages about the school and respond to questions. These sessions will be offered on the following days:
Thursday 1st October: 6:00pm
Wednesday 7th October: 6:00pm
Tuesday 13th October: 6:00pm
Any prospective parents who would like to engage in these sessions should email the school office(firstname.lastname@example.org). On the evening of the meeting, access details for the Zoom session will be emailed out. For those without access to Zoom facility will be able to access a presentation directly from the website and a Frequently Asked Questions sheet which will be added following the first session.
Welcome back 2HC
We are really looking forward to welcoming Class 2HC back into school on Monday. They have been absolutely brilliant with their on-line learning. Mrs Hudson and her team have been creating stimulating, daily sessions and feedback which has helped keep everyone on track. Well done parents for your incredible efforts to support your youngsters.
As a school we will also provide support for the learning of those children who have to isolate due Covid cases within their own home bubble. It is not possible to create the same level as support as we would for whole class isolation, as class teachers will still be working full time (and more) with the rest of the class. However, packs of activities to support the embedding of core skills and knowledge have been created to support those isolating individually.
Census Day lunches
Please help us on Thursday 1st October by ordering a school dinner for your child. The number of children ordering lunches on this day in the year directly impacts our funding for school meals for the next six months. This would be a great support.
