Governors

Our Governors are a key part of our school leadership and work closely alongside the Headteacher and School Leaders to evaluate effectiveness and identify priorities for future development.

The Governors of Dallas Road believe it is important that boards reflect the diversity of the school communities that they serve.  Diverse boards promote inclusive school environments and provide diverse role models for staff and young people.

As a school we collect data on the diversity of the board, including data on age, gender and ethnicity.  We use this data to inform recruitment and training needs and ensure there is always a diverse range of perspectives around the table to support robust decision making.

If you would like to know more about being a Governor, or would be interested in offering the benefit of your skills and experience by standing for a current vacancy, please contact the School Office.

A fundamental concern of our Governor team is the Safeguarding of everyone at School. At the start of every academic year we read and discuss the updates to KCSIE. In 2025/26, we have noted the updates to Online Safety (which include disinformation, misinformation and conspiracy theories), including the School’s approach to AI and how we use it to support the learning process whilst regulating it with an AI use policy. Finally, we have also debated the provision for children in alternative provision and those absent from education, ensuring the School continues to support those pupils.
